Lessons Learned

Published by michael under BlackBerry, Scratchy, trips

Never take the scenic route in February with a two-wheel drive Jeep. You are likely to encounter snow, mud, and a few road-blocking fallen trees. Not to mention the lack of civilization one would encounter over 46 miles of mostly rugged dirt roads.

My bad!

Southern New Mexico

Published by lisa under BlackBerry, Scratchy, trips

Today we got up early to explore more of New Mexico. Michael decided to take the scenic route. We can now officially let Scratchy look like a scratchy! The route chosen resulted in some true off-roading and a big scratch, hehe! I just had to post it before we get home so I can now finally live down the slight accident that I had less than a week after we bought Screamer a.k.a. Scratchy. I also had to try posting from my new BlackBerry!

Valentines Day….

Published by lisa under holidays, love, wedding

What a wonderful day it was! Of course neither of us really stuck to that $20 limit that we set! It was really nice tho. Even more exciting was the day after Valentines Day when I picked up my wedding dress! It is gorgeous and the two girls are in awe of it. Now of course, they are wondering what they are going to wear… Sitting here, I just realized that we have about four more months to go before we board the ship and I am so very excited!! We still need to get Michael ready with attire and I think that needs to be addressed soon. He’s looking great with his recent weight loss and he is taking much better care of himself too. Once we start tanning in a month or so, we will look better than ever I’m sure!! haha! Next week Michael will be 40 and I won’t feel so old anymore. He makes 40 feel like 30 for me. Shari is currently in Las Vegas Nevada and is LOVING it. She has called and texted us all day to make us jealous because we both love Las Vegas as well. She has suggested a girls weekend/bachelorette party before the cruise….not a bad idea I suppose! I have been to Las Vegas twice now without Michael and is just is not the same at all, so going without him again would have to be for a short trip only–or maybe he can come too and babysit???

Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day, baby. My love for you grows by the hour, the minute, and the second. The 24th of June can’t come fast enough, doll. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.

I love you so much.

Love You Lisa

Valentine’s Day

Published by michael under wedding

I can’t believe it’s nearly Valentine’s Day, seems that only yesterday we were celebrating the holidays. Lisa and I are limiting ourselves to $20 for each other, and I’m going to be holding her to it!

We had a wedding weekend a little over a week ago and went to a wedding expo. I’m amazed, but not surprised, how big this industry is. It was a first for both of us, neither had been to this type of gathering before. Lots of neat stuff and cool ideas, and it seems that everywhere we went Lisa and I were the big winners of a contest (ok, I think everyone who leaves their contact info is a contest winner with these companies, lol!)

We also spent time working on the invitations. We’re nearly finished, and should be in a great position to get them sent out in or around April. I’ll just say they’re looking really, really nice now!

In addition, we started looking at flights to Orlando that’ll get us near Port Canaveral for the cruise. We likely won’t be booking until mid-March since the rule of thumb seems to be the good deals start 3-4 months away from one’s travel date. Other logistics like transfers or rentals to the port, plus hotel accommodations, plus park tickets, etc., etc., will also have to be made at that time. Man, there’s quite a bit to accomplish with destination weddings.

Only 4.5 months to go… time is moving fast!

P.S. Oh, Lisa’s dress looks incredible, although she won’t show me the finished product until the big day. Rats. :)
