Our last day in San Francisco was a busy one, visting the financial district and Chinatown, dropping by Coit Tower, and the impressive churches Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Saints Peter and Paul Church, and the magnificent and breathtaking Grace Cathedral. I now have two large blisters on both my feet, even with all the Muni usage, I’ll need a day tomorrow to rest up before tackling NYC!
We ended the night by visiting Melanie and Steve at Half Moon Bay. Too bad we didn’t have more time.

San Francisco is cold. Chilly might be more accurate, but so far it hasn’t cracked 70 degrees and the ocean breeze adds to the nip. It feels so nice, though, after enduring a pretty hot New Mexico summer. We’re pretty tired, just getting back from AT&T Park and a rowdy left field crowd, the Giants losing to the Padres 4-3. We took the T to the game, Lisa and I are really enjoying the Muni.

Earlier today we visited the California Academy of Sciences and wow was it amazing.

Off the beaten path, we checked out the columbarium on Loraine St. It has been by far one of the best parts of the trip, visiting the remains of some 6,000 people. Quite beautiful and touching at the same time, a must see for anyone visiting.
Beware the cliffs near Sutro Bath ruins, however. My middle finger is still recovering form a mishap climbing down to the beach, and I’m hoping it’s just severly sprained.

One of the weirdest sights we’ve ever seen, it was two 757s landing in parallel at San Francisco International airport, a thousand feet or so apart. Very, very cool though!
Our first day in San Francisco and we’ve already seen a lot: Fisherman’s Wharf, Boudin’s Bakery, the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz via a $15 fishing boat tour, tons of homeless people, homeless people screaming at each other, homeless people screaming at tourists, a very romantic dinner on the bay at sunset, San Francisco’s universal health care tax, a majestic view of the San Francisco city hall from our hotel room. Wow, talk about sensory overload. We’re bushed, and still a few more days here.
The cable cars, of course, we had to ride.

We spent the day at 16th Street Mall and checked out A Taste of Colorado at Civic Plaza. The state capital building is really beautiful, Denver has a very nice downtown. We’ve enjoyed ourselves, especially places like Tattered Cover book store.
Lisa enjoying a beer and guacamole downtown.

After finishing up some sightseeing and shopping in Frisco, we made our way to Denver via Rocky Mountain National Park. Absolutely spectacular! We’re staying downtown at The Curtis the next two nights, it’s pretty hip and cool, very retro.
Lisa didn’t want anything to do with this picture. I’m liking it a lot, though.

The Rockies defeated the Diamondbacks, 4-1. Coors Field rocks.

Drove about 500 miles to Frisco, CO. Nice, scenic drive. Here is Lisa enjoying the Outlets at Silverthorne.

I got it all figured out! I have received hints from Michael for the past few months and I have printed those hints out. I will give Michael the book of hints at the airport this Friday with the name of each place he has sent a picture of. Don’t you just love people that talk in their sleep?? hmmm……hope I’m right!
