Just broke mine out of the shed, I haven't riden it in years. It seems like yesterday when I got it.
Bought it in Va. Beach Va. All Original with Blackburn Rack and Cannondale Bags.
Ser # AA00294 with I believe was made in 83
Still in Great shape, was surprised the tires w/french valves still hold air.

Guys:

I also got my hands on a ST500. It was hanging in my mom's garage for years. Looks like a 1983. I'm in the process of replacing the components. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm looking at the Shimano 105 components via Nashbar.

Micheal: I have an st 500 too which I really love. The changes you made to yours are amazing. I hope you will share what was necessary to change the drivetrain so I can keep mine running in the future. Thank you for your time. David

Hi Ron, there is a great resource at Vintage Cannondale that can help you identify the year your Cannondale was made. Follow the link to vintagecannondale.com and click on Info/Serial Numbers.

I have one too! I think mine is an 83 model, but really can't tell what year, wish there was a way to tell. I think these were their first road bikes (touring) Can you tell me how you figured out the year of manufacture? thanks. ron
