Free on November 1st at Albertson’s, and with a baker’s dozen, that means tons of baked pumpkin seeds.

Ok, maybe we’ve done too much relaxing.
By the time we left for our wedding, I had dropped about 29 pounds in the previous five months, courtesy of the physics diet – less calories in, more calories out – so damn simple. Lisa didn’t need to lose anything, but did maintain her weight to stay in the size 2 dress we bought in December. We were both quite happy with the results all around.
Fast forward about two months since we left for the Bahamas, and I’ve given back about 7 pounds. Lisa, just a few, maybe. That’s actually not bad considering how bad we’ve eaten (steaks, beer, Golden Pride, etc.) and how lazy we’ve been. Even Junior is getting his gut back.
So, it’s back to our diets. My motivation is simply that I don’t want to be a fat tub of goo again. Plus, I’d like to live for a long time, get lower insurance premiums, and just feel good. Dieting is actually a no brainer. Get a lot of exercise while at the same time quit eating crap. No pills, juices, books, or surgery is required. Only motivation and will-power.
Eating right is also a hell of a lot cheaper, which contributes to the budget diet we’ve also been on for a while. We have been getting rid of old books through Amazon, selling tons of stuff via Craigslist, riding the bus, clipping piles of coupons, and using the library, just to name a few.
I haven’t sat down to calculate our savings yet, but I do know that riding the bus alone saves us over $200 per month in fuel, parking, insurance, and wear-and-tear. Plus, we regularly get 30-50% savings at the grocery store using coupons. Nice!
Now that’s relaxing.

I like the look of that.

I don’t know what Lisa is worried about, she looks fabulous. Don’t fret, doll, your tan lines will be gone by June, and I can’t figure out why you’re so worried about your diet.
Today is my 7th year tobacco free. How cool is that? Plus, it’s 7 weeks until our wedding day. Coincidence? I think not.

Michael has been exercising and eating a healthy diet and looks great with his recent weight loss! I’m jealous as I keep slipping with my sorta-sometimes healthy diet slip ups… but I have started shopping for cruise clothes and I’m in a size 2 so there! Let’s just hope I can keep it for a while longer.
So now we have started our tanning sessions. I think they are going pretty good and I see color on Michael. I’m already kind of brown, so I won’t need that much-just enough to even things out I guess.
The big challenge right now is getting the little one out of High School already!! What a busy time with graduation and planning a graduation party. Of course she wants a dance party in the backyard. We hired the D.J. and have the food planned and we got invitations ready, however she just left my office requesting that I get about 25-30 more invites for her!! How many kids will we have that night?? We have plans of inviting all the neighbors since they will hear the music anyway. I just hope they are still speaking to us after this one…

I went on a run this afternoon (about half of which involved walking) and all I could think about was a carne asada burrito and an ice cold Negra Modelo. Yum.
Seeing the muffin top in the mirror was enough to put an end to that.

And that means we are less than 8 weeks away from our big day.
We are nearly done with everything. Plane tickets are purchased, hotel reservations completed, cruise paid for, ground transportation researched. Whew! A lot of work, but a fun process.
The invites will be sent this weekend and we’ll get my wardrobe in the coming weeks. The list is getting shorter and we are getting excited to go on the trip and get married!
I am also down about 18 pounds since last August. I am feeling good and looking good, and I hope the diet has helped bring down my triglycerides, which was a bit high at the start of the year. The nice side effect is I have lost considerable weight and I am about half-way to my year-end goal of shedding 40+ pounds. I don’t want to be a fat tub of goo anymore.
Wow, 8 more weeks!
